5 Ways To Get You And Your Sales Out Of A Slump…Fast!

I was visiting with a friend of mine recently and when I asked her how business was, she replied, “Slow!” Her clients were either out of town, hadn’t rescheduled for missed appointments or had simply drifted away.

Businesses are no different than the people who run them. They have moods, cycles and rhythms that, if properly recognized and honored, can help you maintain momentum even when you may not be bursting at the seams with new business.

Undoubtedly, any business can slip into a slow period. BUT…the trick is to know WHAT to do to get your business back on track as quickly as possible and better yet, HOW to avoid slipping into a slow spot in it in the first place.

Here are 5 tips I personally use to coach my clients out of slow and into “go!”

Tip #1 Reach Out And Touch Someone

I know, when a sales slump hits your energy seems to drain away as well. Before you know it you hardly have the energy to open your email much less market.

Energetically, what’s happened is you’ve “lost that lovin’ feeling” and are no longer feeling connected to your vision or the people you’re meant to serve through your business.

The solution is simple. You absolutely MUST reach out and reconnect with past and current clients…no excuses! One client of mine recently recently hit a slump. Thankfully, with a little coaching she knew what to do. She sent one email out to just one hundred past clients and business associates, explaining the benefits of working with her and asking for a referral. She included a f-r-e-e article as a way of demonstrating value. She quickly picked up three new clients in just a few short weeks.

Tip #2 Get Over The Myth That You’re “Bugging” Someone

If you have clients who haven’t used a package they purchased from you or have missed appointments without rescheduling then it’s up to you to reach out to them. I recommend making a friendly call or sending a hand written note reminded them that you want them to get the results of the service they purchased. You’ll be surprised at how often your clients express appreciation and gratitude at your thoughtfulness for reminding them to use your services!

Tip #3 Honor Personal Circumstances In Your Life

Sometimes sales slip because our attention and focus has been directed on anything BUT our business. If that’s the case then this is the time to give yourself a break, get your foot off of the guilt peddle and give yourself the breathing room to make a fresh start. Set small daily goals that include reconnecting with past clients and colleagues, then build up your energy and actions from there.

Tip #4 Let Go Of Something So You Can Let In New Business

Universal law says that you must let go of something in order to create space for something new to enter your life. My favorite trick for breaking out of a sales slump is to clean out closets. There’s nothing like purging old files, magazines, clothes, books, info products and any item, relationship or situation that feels energetically draining, to dramatically shift your energy. Plus, you’re telling the Universe that you are prepared and ready for something new and fantastic to enter your newly created space.

Tip #5 Keep Your Eye On The Horizon

Twice each year I spend a couple of days with my Master Mind partners, evaluating my goals and 1ncome, then taking a fresh look at where I’m headed with my business. This allows me to plan new events, program and info product launches that keep my 1ncome flowing smoothly and growing year-round.

(If you don’t have a coach to help you with this then I HIGHLY recommend becoming a member of my Success Circle Coaching Club which includes guaranteed Master Mind coaching on the same business building strategies I’ve used to create a business that is fast approaching the million dollar mark this year.)

So if your sales are slower than you’d like, or you want to Increase your sales, then now is the perfect time to reconnect to WHY you do what you do, reach out to WHO you love working with the most, then follow up, follow up, follow up to KEEP your relationships strong and profitable!

  1. Kendall:
I rarely see people acknowledge what you wrote in point #3: Honor Personal Circumstances In Your Life.

Sometimes a slump has much less to do with our sales skills and more with life. I love how you honor that part of us and give us tips to keep moving… or to rest, whichever we need.

    :-)
