How to avoid ‘taking on’ your clients’ money drama

If you’re a sensitive, caring entrepreneur then you’re likely to face a situation with a client that I call, “Emotional Money Dumping.” This is where your client’s money issues suddenly become yours, leaving you feeling responsible, guilty or stuck.
For example, your client is late in paying you, sharing with you their money woes. You listen compassionately, and while you DO want to get paid, instead of asking about a plan you find yourself commiserating with their situation, saying things to help them feel better. At the end of the conversation you have no clear plan for payment but do have a feeling of unease and heaviness.
Or, let’s say your client is current on paying you but is frequently stressed out about money and always seems to be “up against the wire” with the latest financial drama unfolding in their life.
Even friends can be guilty of Emotional Money Dumping. No matter what the situation is, you know you’ve been a victim if you:
- Feel like you have to rescue someone financially
- Feel like your energy just tanked after talking to your client or friend about money
- Find yourself frequently listening to someone’s money drama story

How much money are you subconsciously programmed to make?

Nobody likes the idea they are “programmed” to only make a certain amount, but the truth is, that’s what initially happens to ALL of us.
Society, religion, our family, even books, movies and television subconsciously dictate how much you should make. The problem is, most of these influences channel their thinking along the lines of having a j-o-b, which doesn’t include the same opportunities and mindset that being an entrepreneur affords you.
Which means it’s up to YOU to re-imprint your subconscious so that you’re living up to your true birthright, which is to be wealthy. Luckily, this is easy to do if you follow certain guidelines that are simple to put into place.
Keep in mind that no matter how much marketing and networking you do, your subconscious has a pre-determined amount set so it’s up to you to wisely raise that amount, else you’ll continue to hit this “money glass ceiling.” This, in combination with the proven marketing strategies I teach, will propel your business forward by leaps, instead of by frustratingly slow steps.
