Are You Unconsciously Giving Your Marketing ‘Bad Vibes’?

I don’t hide the fact that I believe that marketing your business takes more than just going through the motions. If all it took was “just taking action” more women would be successful entrepreneurs.

The reason more woman are NOT successful is because they don’t understand one simple secret that is so powerful, it can make the difference between having a successful business…or being forced to go out of business.

The secret is simple:

Your marketing actions are fueled
by an undercurrent of energy.
This is the vibration that makes your marketing soar…
or makes you stay small.

When a woman entrepreneur recognizes this energy, taps IN to it and puts it to work for her, her business thrives. She’s the one that always seems to get the best clients, invitations to speak at exciting events and opportunities to partner with people who will help her move her business forward, faster.

The woman who doesn’t harness this energy works too hard, struggles with minimal results, wondering why her programs don’t fill or why no one is buying her products. She’s repeating the affirmations but her results are lackluster and disappointing.

What I’m talking about goes BEYOND Law of Attraction. To help you tap into this flow of energy, there are three things you need to remember. Read them right now so you can stop struggling with the unseen forces you’ve pitted to work against you, and start tapping into the ease, grace and flow that can be yours…

Tip #1 Can You Trust Yourself?

Women often have major trust issues. And yes, these issues can easily make themselves felt in our marketing. We don’t trust people want what we have to offer, we doubt people will sign up for our programs or we sabotage our success by playing small, sounding timid, undercharging or putting out an unclear marketing message.

Every piece of your marketing, from your web copy to your tweets, your ezine, your promo emails and your teleseminars carries the unspoken vibration of YOU.

It isn’t other people you’re not trusting; it’s yourself. I suggest beginning to find examples of when you were trustworthy…to yourself. When did you keep your word with yourself? When was a time you honored yourself for being decisive? What do you need to forgive yourself for? The more you trust yourself, the more confident your marketing will appear to the outside world.

Tip #2 Can You Bless Your Results, No Matter What?

Women often criticize themselves BEFORE others do, as a way of protecting themselves. The strategy is, “No need to criticize me, I’ve already done it for you.”

Were you hoping for 50 people on your teleseminar but you only had 8? Bless them. Did you want 12 people for your high end coaching program but you only got 6? Bless them. Focus on the people, not the numbers. Sure, it’s great to have goals but not when you use your goals to whip yourself for poor performance. When you begin the spiritual marketing practice of abundantly blessing your achievements, you’ll have more achievements to celebrate.

Tip #3 Can You Believe You Deserve Success?

Wanting success is not the same thing as believing you deserve it. In your heart, you must feel that you DO deserve it and that you’re worthy of it. If you’re secretly questioning your worth and deservability, you’ll continue to sideline your marketing, because the energy you’re vibrating is repelling people rather than attracting them.

Marketing Is More Than A To-Do List…It’s A Spiritual Journey That Yes, You DID Sign Up For!

I love the saying that, “how you do one thing is how you do everything.” This is why your business is the greatest mirror for reflecting how deeply you’re diving in to your spiritual work. Tapping in to the river of positive vibrational energy that is constantly flowing for you is one of the most profoundly life — and business! — changing actions you can take. The results you create are riches within yourself…and within your bank account.

  1. Kendall,
Even though it seems we have different spiritual beliefs, I think this was indeed one of the most helpful marketing articles I’ve read in a long while. Bless YOU as well & thanks for all you do!

  2. I absolutely adored this article. I recently have started a new project with fabulousenergy and its really
taking off. I am bolder when asking for upsells and appointments and asking for the money in advance, and you know what. …. people are saying YES>
    This really works.

  3. I totally agree with the point about ‘blessing’ the customers you do have.

From my experience, if you beat yourself up for not having reached your goal, the negative vibe will be felt by your remaining customers, and that’ll only lower your ‘word of mouth’, which ends up lowering everything. A downward spiral.

  6. Kendall, thank you for another provocative and supportive article. I’m a spiritual teacher myself, and yet I always need/want more to be shown and taught to me. You are so right about “trusting yourself” in your business. I have made some decisions in my business because I fell in love but ever since I have not felt like my business was on track…until today, before I read your article, I decided to go back to what was working…and then I got your email with your message…confirmation is sweet! 9. It is so true that we need to “bless” the clients and the projects we DO have. So much about “inner success” has to do with being content with what we DO have so we can open our lives and appreciate the abundance all around us. We are blessed and are blessed to BE a blessing to others. Thank you for this, Kendall.

  10. Thanks so much. This is precisely what I needed to hear today at a crucial phase of my business.

  11. Thank you for this insightful article, Kendall. As a solopreneur, it’s so easy to remain in a fearful place - this is a wonderful reminder to step into our bigger self and to trust ourselves and the universe that everything is happening as it should.
    With love,

  12. Ah, now you’re talking, girl. It’s the truth the whole truth, and nothing but the truth which doesn’t get talked about enough and it happens to all of us at one given point or another. Aligning ourselves with ourselves and getting out the best of who we are, thus attracting in others the likness of our souls.

Our business is our divine work. Love that!

This article bas hit the nail on the proverbial head. Great job, Kendall.

  13. Thanks for this post, Kendall!

Yes, our positive or negative energy does pass into
our work. I find one reason that we fear is when we are not certain of whom we serve, how we help and what great benefits we can bring i.e. when we do not have a clear niche, owning and offering our distinct value.

Once we become clear about all of these, it brings confidence and excitement! The fear goes away! How can we not be excited when we know exactly who needs us, and how we can exceed their expectations?! This confidence and excitement shoots us out of bed in the morning and off to serve “our people.”
And such energy is attractive, capable of busting limitations!

Wishing you all a confident and energy-filled day,

    Oma Edoja

  14. Kendall, this article ROCKS! It IS all about 99% vibration and 1% inspired action. Ijust posted about that on FB. :) I’ve found that no amount of running on the gerbil wheel without the inner alignment will get me the results I want. But taking the time to ‘feel’ what I am totally into, authentically, and offering that, gets it all going!Thank you so much for the reminder/validation today! And yeah, we DID sign up for it! In fact I created an online course “Who Signed Me Up For This?!” that helps to see/understand life challenges from a spiritual perspective http://bit.ly/WhoSignedMeUpForThis Love you, love your work. Thank you, Jan.

  23. “Focus on the people, not the numbers.” I think as solo business owners, especially if you don’t have a business background, it’s easy to either ignore the numbers altogether (which often results in us serving but not getting paid what we deserve); or, getting fixated on the numbers (and losing sight of serving altogether). The middle road is the right one…don’t forget the numbers, but look at them as a measure of progress, not a be-all-end-all measurement stick. Most importantly, think of serving your clients, first. The numbers will follow!

  24. Did you hear me crying in Hawaii when you wrote this? I am still in tears after having read it. You couldn’t have been talking to me…

I have just launched my first BIG tele-class that encompasses my 27 years of corporate selling experience and makes it easy for entrepreneurs.

I have never felt such fear because this is my baby and it has taken me a few years to get it broken down into usable forumlas.

Thank you Kendall for getting it!

  25. Kendall,
Thanks for the reminding me that above all I need to trust myself. This is something I’m continually practicing and need to be reminded once in a while how important this is!

    Thanks!

  26. Dear Beautiful Hearts…Every time I take a risk and write an article that is not the “usual” marketing variety, it stirs something within me that feels like truth. Clearly, from the amazing comments each of you have posted, it’s truth, too.

Hmmm…can’t wait to “hear” what my muse tells me to write in next week’s article…((-:

    With abundant love and gratitude,

    Kendall

  27. I was coaching someone just today about the importance of being bold and fearless in your presentation. Timidity and fence-sitting do not inspire a following.

We are all created with one unit of worth. That means we are all equally entitled to become successful. But success goes to those willing to believe AND work for it.

    Good article.

    Comment by Rhonda — April 21, 2010 @ 8:51 pm

  28. Hello Kendal,l first off this is my first time writing you but I’ve been following you for a while now and I have to tell you this article is truly one of the most profound pieces you’ve written.

I struggle with this so much, so much so to the point that the very topic of it has made me reconsider who I am, whom I’m serving (including myself), my branding and what I’m talking about to my readers.

I teach marketing to Artists and I’ve grown so disappointed in the results I’ve received it’s like I’m sending out my ezine to empty air (I can hear the crickets rubbing their hind legs together:-) after I hit the send button. So I’ve been re-examining why I’m doing this. Until today!

I know my life purpose is to mentor artists but this ‘inner’ game of marketing piece has come to the forefront and your article has confirmed what god has been channeling through me. I thank the universe for using you to be a clear vessel to get this message to me. Thank you, Thank you.
