A few pearls of wisdom after 10 years in business
August 28th, 2010 by Kendall
Seems as if I let an important anniversary slip by without proper acknowledgment or celebration. No, not my wedding anniversary (Richard would NEVER let me forget that one — he knows the date better than I do!)
It’s my 10th anniversary in business. Truthfully, the time has gone by so fast, it still feels like yesterday that I made the decision to become a coach.
Ten years in business (and to be thriving even during one of the worst recessions ever) is a great accomplishment. To help celebrate, here are a few pearls of wisdom I’ve learned along the way. I hope they help YOU celebrate your success in business, for many years to come!
Don’t let others dictate your success…you can achieve more than you think you can!
Keep stretching into your discomfort zone…this is where your brilliance, and your success, awaits you.
Keep raising your fees…you’re worth it!
Always invest in continual personal improvement…who you are shows up in your business results, DAILY.
Trust a mentor and devote yourself to their wisdom and their teachings…they’ll help you see your blind spots and achieve more, faster. Besides, the “do it yourself” route is a lonely one.
Choose the right niche, then get creative and “spin off” products and services to meet every need your niche has…this is how you build a sustainable, enduring business that pays you handsomely.
Keep challenging your mo.ney comfort zone…real financial freedom, peace and security is your Divine Right as you break f.r.e.e. of your past.
When you’re feeling fear, doubt or uncertainty, remember that there’s someone who believes in you 100 percent…ME!

What do YOU do when the moon and stars collide instead of align?
August 15th, 2010 by Kendall
Have you noticed that the energy of the past few weeks has felt heavy, fraught with miscommunications and technical glitches? One of my Platinum members, gifted Astrologer Lisa Zimmerman (who’s ramping up her business big time with JV’s, teleseminars, VIP days and more — I am so proud of her!) described it as a time of “cosmic chaos and conflict.” Lisa, I hear ya on that!
I’m glad to say that within just the past 48 hours, this feels like it has shifted. In fact, this may be really sappy to hear but I’ve been on a bliss cloud the past couple of days.
Whether you believe in astrology, numerology, tarot or any of the esoteric arts, there is something to be said when things just don’t seem to be going right for many people, all at the same time, which begs the question: what do YOU do when the moon and stars collide instead of align?
What I do is breathe, remember that this too, shall pass, and remind myself that I have a choice in whether I react or respond. I find it helpful to go slower, think things through more carefully and share with people I trust that “things feel a little weird right now.” Somehow, talking about it lessens the power odd energetic times can have over us.
Lastly, I practice gratitude even more thankfully. It’s easy to think that technical or communication issues are the end of our little corner of the world when in reality, they are a small, even at times a good problem to have. And yes, I’m still feeling blissed out…how about you…care to join me?

Personal realizations are powerful for creating lasting, heart felt change
June 26th, 2010 by Kendall
Okay, I’m going to be REALLY candid here…for years I’ve said that drama is something I only want to see on the page or on the big screen. Meaning, great for entertainment but thank you, no, not a part of my life. I prefer simplicity, peace, order and beauty to the chaos, upset and mess of drama.
So far, so good. Until a couple of weeks ago when I realized that me, the UN-drama queen actually creates her own form of this in her life. Ugh. Personal realizations like this are painful in the moment of awareness, but powerful for creating lasting, heart felt change.
Since that moment of realization I’ve made a list of how I create drama in my life. I included everything from how upset I get when one of my horses has a health challenge to how, at times, I’ll let other peoples’ priorities trump my plans, then get stressed with the need to catch up.
Why am I sharing this “less than perfect picture” of who I am with you? Because I want you to know that self-growth is a journey, not a destination, no matter how successful you become. And, to inspire you to take an honest look at where you create upset, chaos, drama or tension in your life. This includes over booking yourself, answering the demands of others, running late, procrastinating and more.
Remember, how you do one thing is how you do everything. I’ve now raised the bar as to what being drama-free means and am already enjoying a new level of mastery at creating the environment of peace, simplicity and beauty I most enjoy and thrive upon. Now it’s your turn!

Getting unplugged
May 28th, 2010 by Kendall
I spent the last week unplugged from all technology. What I experienced during the week was profound, as it caused me to address a fear that runs deep for many of you. I call it the “what will I be missing” fear and this is the fear that keeps many of you glued to Twitter, obsessively checking email and carrying your cell phone with you everywhere, a grownup’s version of a security blanket.
I was traveling cross country last week, on a personal trip of great importance to me. During the trip I knew I would need to make a very important decision. The kind of decision that would impact the direction of my life. This was not something to take lightly. A lot of mo.ney was at stake and a lot of my heart and emotion were on the line. I knew that to connect to Source energy so that I could make the right decisions, I had to keep my mind and energy clear, focused and not allow myself to get distracted attending to other peoples’ needs, even including my business.
At the last minute I chose to leave my cute little purple laptop at home, giving myself the space and freedom to be unplugged. The first day I found myself calling Richard, asking him to check my email for me. By day two, I stopped myself from even doing that and instead, noticed my discomfort in not being plugged in.
By day three, I barely felt the pull and instead, focused on FEELING connected. Arriving home at the end of the week, I resisted the urge to “catch up” with email. The computer stayed off while I continued to rejuvenate and finalize the decisions I’d made earlier in the week. The result has been illuminating! The ideas and energy I now have access to, simply by not letting my energy get consumed by feeling as if I’m missing out, has allowed me to make powerful decisions with clarity and purpose. I feel greater access to my intuition and today, as a coach, I kicked butt, taking my coaching mastery to a whole new level.
I plan on taking many more technology breaks throughout the summer as I move forward with writing a new book and launching important, new, transformational programs. I can’t wait!
