Do you use comparison to pull yourself forward…or to pull yourself down?

Every gal I know indulges in comparison. The thing is, do you use comparison to pull yourself forward…or to pull yourself down?
When I’m at my best, I’ll use comparison to inspire me to take a big leap forward. The feeling is one of curiosity and my internal conversation is gentle, with my higher self helping me see new ways of doing something, or sparking an idea that, until that moment, had been lying undiscovered within me.
On occasion though, my shadow side will pop up and use comparison as a weapon against my self esteem and sense of self-worth. When this happens the first thing I do is first become AWARE that it’s happening. Then, I ask myself:
“Where is it that I am not stepping into my power, what am I not giving voice to or where am I not moving forward authentically?
It’s never about what the person you’re comparing yourself to is doing more or better than you are. I believe that when comparison sparks negative, self-depreciating feelings within us, it’s a signal that we’re denying our truth. A part of us intuitively knows this and gives us a choice: use the comparison to pull us down into our shadow side, or, use the comparison for our highest and greatest good.
I know which path I choose, and I bet you do, too.

Client Payment Problems? Try These 3 Simple Tips

Signing up new clients is a joy…unless their payment bounces. If that happens to you, you’re likely to feel guilty, uncomfortable and wonder what you did wrong. To top it off, a client whose payment bounces is likely to avoid contacting you, leaving you to wonder what to do next.
If this happens to you, the first thing to realize is it’s NOT PERSONAL. Yes, you’re the one temporarily getting the short end of the deal, but keep in mind it isn’t because you didn’t do enough, aren’t good enough or don’t deserve to be paid.
As a woman entrepreneur, you must learn how to navigate these kinds of sticky situations with grace, compassion and leadership. The good news is that if handled correctly, most client payment situations can be quickly resolved and can even help you deepen your relationship with your client.
Let me give you my 3 “best practices” tips for resolving client payment situations and eliminating any feelings of guilt, discomfort or self-blame in the process.

Expanding, growing or increasing is a natural state of all living things

Did you know that when you worry that you may not be able to “handle” growing your business, or that if you doubt you’re “good enough” to raise your fees, that you’re actually swimming upstream, against the current of a universal principle, which is the principle of 1ncrease?
Many of us have been taught that it’s wrong to want more: more money, a bigger house, more clothes or more time off. Yet, to want more is as authentic and natural to us as breathing.
Expanding, growing or increasing is a natural state of all living things: plants, animals and people. The thing that’s important is to recognize the difference between wanting more as a way of self-medicating, or as a way of trying to fill a hole within us of not feeling good enough, versus wanting more simply because we want to enjoy the abundance, the gifts and the beauty that life has to offer.
As long as you are clear on the difference, you have no need to ever worry about being greedy, shallow or fixated on keeping up with the Jones’. It is your natural, authentic state to want — and to have — more. I recommend releasing the internal chatter that you “shouldn’t” want more, and instead, give yourself permission to feel the effortless abundance of simply allowing more into your life.
