Total Teleseminar Meltdown…
December 18th, 2009 by Kendall SummerHawk
This is NOT one of those hoaky, “I was in tears because my teleseminar had technical issues” marketing ploys to get you to relisten to a call.
This is an honest, never before in my life, teleseminar meltdown that I now see was Divinely Inspired. The spiritual business lesson in it is too juicy not to share, so here you go!
It All Started When…
It started when one of my assistants typed the wrong bridge number into the call prep sheet she prepares for me for each of my calls. (mistake #1)
Which was an error that would have been quickly caught by my totally amazing Business Manager, Renee.
Except that I bypassed our admin protocol (mistake #2) and emailed the assistant directly to increase the size of the bridge line, which she did, only it was the wrong bridge number she increased. (mistake #3)
Wait…it gets better…
Earlier in the day of my big teleseminar on “What Clients Want” my assistant asks if I want the bridge company to record the call as a backup.
“No” I tell her. “I’ll record it myself, no problem.” Thinking how often I’ve done this, what could possibly go wrong at this point given how many thousands of calls (literally!) I’ve led? You guessed it, this was mistake #4.
The afternoon of my call, Renee asks if I want her on the call. “No” I blithely say, thinking how it’s late for her, she’s been working a lot this week, it’s the holidays, blah, blah, blah. “I’ll start the recording myself.” Uh huh…mistake #5.
Now it’s call time. I dial in to find no one there (remember, at this point I don’t know any of these mistakes have been made).
I quickly figure out I’ve been given the wrong bridge number so I hang up and call the correct one.
I peel over to start the recording but accidentally press the wrong entry code so the recording won’t start.
Undaunted — after all, I’ve done this thousands of times, right? — I hang up so I can dial back in and start over.
Only I can’t get in to the call. All of the lines are busy because the correct bridge hadn’t had its lines extended.
I start to panic.
I hang up and try again.
Same thing.
Now in full blown panic I run into Richard’s office, ask if he’s on the call — he is — and promptly rip his headset off of him.
Problem solved, right?
Not quite.
Turns out, he dialed in to my call using the participant pin code, not the moderator code, which means I can’t mute out the call using his phone.
What choice do I have except to suck it up and start leading the call through the sound of dishes, cell phones, dinner plans and lord knows what else? (Geez! What are people DOING when they’re on a teleseminar?)
But I’m game and I’m intent on honoring my commitment so I smile and keep going.
Twenty minutes into the call Richard slips me a note that he’s on the call with my phone and using the moderator pin and do I want to take over that phone?
Blessing him profusely I break from the content, gratefully take my phone back, mute out the call and finally relax into what I had been delivering.
Problem now solved?
Err…not quite.
Richard hands up his phone, not realizing that doing so stops the recording. (mistake #6)
Unaware of this, I merrily continue on, only to find out afterwards that the call recording stopped at minute 21.
End of story? I wish…you’ll love this part…
After realizing I’ll have to re-record the call I decide to do something self-medicating so I pop over to Twitter for a minute, only to see my first Twitter hate-stream.
Two tweeples were lambasting me for doing “more promo on my call than an MLM person.” One of the tweeples chiming in with her barbs about what a loser I am wasn’t even ON the call.
My first thought when I read Mr. Mean-Tweets posts?, “A**&$#&”
My second thought? “Jerk!”
My third thought? “Uh oh, what if he’s right?”
Uncertain, I walked into Richard’s office and asked him whether there was too much promo in the call.
“No.” he said. “You were great!”
Hmmmm…Sweet, but not exactly the dose of truth I was looking for.
So I asked him again. This time, he said, “No, it wasn’t too much. That’s what everyone does.”
Bingo! I was busted.
I had slipped down that slippery slope of doing what I thought I “should” do rather than what is authentic for me (mistake #…oh whatever, I’ve stopped counting!)
Suddenly, instead of just being an “A**&$#&”, Mr. Mean-Tweet was someone I was blessing. His nasty snipes served a beautiful purpose. So did the umpteen technical glitches had that happened earlier.
In that moment I sat at my desk, looked at his tweets and said out loud, “Thank you!” I also thanked the Universe for making everything go so wrong so that I could see my truth.
Inspired, I quickly re-wrote my teleseminar from my heart and truth, regardless of what will “sell.”
So, what you have now is the re-recorded teleseminar with fresh content about money, mistakes coaches make that sabotage their business and more. The content I share will absolutely help you step up powerfully in YOUR life and business. Is there any promo in it? Yes, at the end. You’re free to stop the audio when you get to that part but I hope you’ll listen to the whole call and tell me what YOU think.
Here you go…the Divinely inspired, super content rich(!) call on “What Clients Want: How to Make Yourself Irresistible, In-demand and Highly Paid as a Coach in Today’s Market”.

Grow your businesses with clarity and purpose with my CMMS program
December 17th, 2009 by Kendall
I’m pictured here with Sophia Knight, one of the students attending my Certified Mo.ney, Marketing and Soul Coach Training program (”CMMS”), coming up in February. Sophia is a leadership coach, focused on helping both men and women entrepreneurs grow their businesses with clarity and purpose. Sophia and I bumped into each other last week at a personal growth workshop I attended. Proves that just like “great minds think alike” so do “great spirits attract each other.” I can’t wait to give Sophia a hug at the LIVE training of CMMS in February.

In my breakthrough Money Mirror model, it’s the mirror of Deservability that often gets the most, “That’s me!” response from clients. The minute women entrepreneurs read the signs and symptoms they know they’ve been busted as someone who over delivers in order to cover up feeling guilty.
When I was newer in my business I knew I over delivered but I sloughed it off, thinking that this way, no one could fault me for not “giving enough.”
Problem was, not only was I speeding down the road to burn out, I was also overwhelming my clients. Not good.
At that moment I realized that I was actually sabotaging my ability to grow my business. I couldn’t take on any more clients despite working bazillion hours. Worse, I felt like the hamster on the wheel, never able to keep up, never feeling fulfilled and always feeling guilty. Not a pretty picture.
That’s when I decided to look deep within at the root cause of over delivering and how to transform the shadow side of this insidious behavior into something that supports and sustains me.
If you’re like me — over delivering yet feeling too guilty to let go then I INSIST you read these tips right now. I promise they’ll help you grow into the “you” that’s meant to serve and make more, without overwhelming yourself or your clients.

Women Entrepreneurs: Do You Know the Biggest Mistake Even Seasoned Coaches Make That Sabotages Their Income AND Their Desire To Impact More People?
December 14th, 2009 by Kendall
Hands down, coaches are some of the most giving, generous, intuitive and insightful people on the planet. They’re always ready, willing and able to help clients move forward, break through limiting behaviors and reach their goals.
Coaches are in the business of changing peoples’ lives so you’d think that for this kind of work a coach could EASILY make at least 6-figures, right?
Truth is, most coaches struggle to make a living that matches their old salary from their past j-o-b. Or if they do reach 6-figures they quickly tap out (or even burn out).
I think this is clearly a case for “physician, heal thyself.” What most coaches need to heal are key beliefs about their value, and then take action in a different way than they have in the past. Basically, do for themselves what they ask their clients to do.
How do I know? Because I’ve created a multi-million dollar coaching business from the ground up. Yes, you read that number right!
To create this kind of success I’ve had to dig deep within me, uncovering the false beliefs and limiting behaviors that otherwise, would have kept me stuck where most coaches end up: frustrated, with mediocre income and limited impact in the world.
When I started out I had no idea I could take coaching this far. The best part is that while the income is certainly amazing, it’s the ability to bring the gifts of coaching to so many people that makes my business a blessing. Every day I get the joy of helping people succeed, which in our hearts, is what we coaches yearn to achieve.
What stops you from creating extraordinary income and impacting the lives of many isn’t lack of coaching talent or ability. It also isn’t lack of motivation or desire.
Find out what it is and what you can do about it — today — by joining me on a FREE call I’m leading on Thursday, Dec 17th at 8pm Eastern on:
“What Clients Want: How to Make Yourself Irresistible, In-demand and Highly Paid as a Coach in Today’s Market”
Specifically, in this call I’ll cover IN DETAIL:
- The biggest mistake even seasoned coaches make that sabotages their income AND their desire to help greater numbers of people
- What clients want right now — and are willing to pay a surprising amount of money to get
- Which is the hottest, fastest growing niche in coaching (and how, if you’re not getting in on this now, you’re likely to be passed by forever)
- Why coaching is a “must offer” for every business, even if you don’t think of yourself as a coach
- Why coaching tops info products, membership programs and other info streams as THE most lucrative…but only IF it’s done right (don’t worry, I’ll share what the right way is –in detail)
To join me for this F.R.E.E. call simply dial in this info:

Something Else You Should Know…
Coaching is one of the SIMPLEST ways to create a 6-figure business. I know because I’ve leveraged my love of coaching into what is now a multi-million dollar business in just a few short years.
Better still, the people I’ve trained as a Certified Money, Marketing and Soul Coach are reporting CONSISTENT and lucrative results.
For example: some have made $20,000, even as much as $50,000 in their FIRST 90-days of training.
Listen in on what Elizabeth Genco Purvis had to say about what becoming a Certified Money, Marketing and Soul Coach has meant to her business and her life.
Get the Flash Player to see this content.Even more exciting is that the AVERAGE of all of the current Certified Money, Marketing and Soul Coaches is over $17,304 in additional income made within their 90-day training period. Average. That doesn’t mean pie-in-the-sky. It means regular people creating extraordinary results due to becoming a Certified Money, Marketing and Soul Coach.
So, in addition to delivering IN-DEPTH CONTENT on this upcoming F.R.E.E. call I’ll also answer your questions about whether achieving the elite designation of being a Certified Mo.ney, Marketing and Soul Coach is right for you.
I’ll include in the call:
- 3 exciting reasons WHY becoming a Certified Money, Marketing and Soul Coach (”CMMS”) solves the #1 problem most coaches have of how to make a great living doing what they love
- why over 90% of the Certified Money, Marketing and Soul Coaches are making money when other coaches are not
- the 3 signs to know if becoming a CMMS coach is right for you and your business
- 5 different and creative ways you can integrate the CMMS modules into your existing coaching business (or use these modules to START your new coaching business)
- how quickly you can expect to see a return on your investment
- why your prospective clients will beg you to coach them on the CMMS modules, such as Branding with Archetypes, Money Archetypes, Signature System and more
- how this training will transform your business, your income (and your life!) for the rest of your career
So join me, okay? I promise you’ll get at least ONE new idea from this call that can positively impact your business for years to come.
See you Thursday!
