Create your own “mini-celebrity” status
May 20th, 2008 by Kendall
Cute, aren’t they?! That’s my hubby, Richard, riding his little Arabian mare, Tashia up our driveway over the weekend.
I love how photos of our current property look just like the Hollywood westerns from years ago, complete with scenic cactus, cotton tail rabbits and prairie dogs (we won’t mention anything about the creepy-crawly things the desert also sports!)
Speaking of Hollywood, did you know that it’s not only super easy but HIGHLY important that YOU create your own “mini-celebrity” status?
Just in case you think, “Oh, that doesn’t mean me!” I invite you to think again…and find out WHY you can’t ignore being the famed leader you’re meant to be.

Trying something new with your business? Here’s how to stay confident!
May 18th, 2008 by Kendall
Twice each week I go for a private Pilates session to keep my body fit and strong. In today’s session, my Pilates instructor, Julia, asked me to do something new that felt like I was falling backwards.
I didn’t like it. In fact, I instantly felt enough fear that I said, “I can’t do this!”
Julia immediately modified the exercise so I was still working the muscles she had in mind but without creating such a strong fear response. Cautious, but willing, I gave the “baby” version of the exercise a try and succeeded.
“Not to worry.” she said. “We’ll get you there!”How so like running a business! We’re often challenged to do things that feel scary. It could be creating your first teleseminar, making your first Platinum Style Program offer, raising your fees, giving a presentation, selling products back of the room, letting go of clients who no longer suit you or launching into an entirely new arena.
Whatever the activity, the point is that if it feels scary it means that you’re growing into something new. The trick is to make sure that you’re building on layers of confidence so that before you know it, the difference between where you are now and where you used to be feels like “no big deal.”
Although today I feel dubious that I’ll be able to roll myself backwards like a human beach ball, I trust Julia and I can already begin to picture myself performing the original exercise and celebrating my success. I bet that you too, can picture yourself performing something in your business that may have, in the past, felt difficult, only now, in your mind’s eye, looks like cake.

Birthday Celebrations
May 13th, 2008 by Kendall
I just celebrated my birthday (that’s me on the left, next to my sweetie Richard, and my mom, Kailash, on the right).
I always know I’m going to get a GREAT gift from Richard because he wisely conspires with my mom to pick it out! (Smart guy! This way, he knows I’ll love it). This year, he gave me the gorgeous outfit I’m wearing in this photo (it has beautiful little beads sewn all around the neckline and the skirt flows and swings so a girl feels really pretty).
I was glad to keep my birthday celebration quiet this year, after delivering last week’s SOLD OUT Brand Authenticity workshop.
I also took time off to rest up and start getting our house ready to sell, all while tile and kitchen cabinet shopping for the new house we’re building. Managing two house projects is a lot to do so I keep setting clear intentions of everything flowing smoothly and it does!

The more you show up, the more money you make
May 9th, 2008 by Kendall
The theme of last weekend’s SOLD OUT Brand Authenticity workshop was “The more you show up, the more you make!”
Which meant of course, that I had to be a model for what I was talking about. It wasn’t hard but at moments, it did feel a bit risky.
Especially when I told a story that had me in tears even before I started, and didn’t leave a dry eye in the house by the time I had finished. (I’m planning articles about the power of story telling in your teleseminars and workshops so stay tuned to future issues of this newsletter!)
The point is, when you go beyond delivering good quality information, and let your heart, your passion, your personal fire for what you do come out, you create emotion. And emotion is what gets people out of their seats.
Take a look around you at the people you admire who are really successful. They aren’t just spewing forward facts. They’re stirring up strong emotions. They’re letting those emotions run through them as well, so that the presence they stand in before their audience or clients is powerful, authentic and charismatic.
I’m curious…how much emotion would feel like a risk for you to show this week? How fully can you allow yourself to be steeped in the feeling of what you want your audience or clients to feel, so that they are swept up into it with you and carried forward?
This is putting the “soul” into “marketing, mo-ney and soul
