Choosing which small business marketing article to write
February 28th, 2008 by Kendall
Choosing my article topic for the week is only difficult because I have so many topics I want to share with you.
Should I discuss a down-in-the-trenches marketing tactic or shine a light on a soul-inspired mind set idea I’ve discovered for myself, and know can help propel you forward?
Should I write about email campaigns and autoresponders, or dig into what’s really running your business (your heart and beliefs!)?
See my dilemma?
So why don’t YOU tell me what you want to hear!
More marketing or more soul-talk?
Or both?
As in, “here’s how to market your business better AND infuse your marketing with your soul’s truth and wisdom.”
Click here to drop me a line and let me know…I’m listening to you!
Until next week…

What Motivates Potential Clients to Hire You?
February 27th, 2008 by Kendall
What motivates people to hire you? That answer can be summed up in one simple word. Connection. Why? Because connection is rooted in emotion, and we all make our buying decisions based on emotions.
Most business owners wrongly focus on explaining how they deliver their service. If you’ve been reading this ezine for a while, then you know that no one cares. What they DO care about is:
1. Can they trust you?
2. Do you seem to understand what their situations involves?
3. Are you reliable? (back to trust again)
4. Will you tell them the truth? (yep, more trust)Whether or not you are a ‘feeling’ type of person, it’s vital you create a way for prospective clients to feel a sense of connection with you. So how do you accomplish that? Here are my 5 favorite ways:
1. Stay in touch and always offer value when you do
Have a resource handy, a great article, or give valuable feedback.Posted in Money and Mindset, Small Business marketing, Soul of Business • No Comments » • Subscribe to this feed
Do your marketing strategies give you this much time off?
February 26th, 2008 by Kendall
I just returned to “work” today after nearly three weeks off. I spent a lot of that time working on my new home construction project (hours spent at the county getting permits plus tile store hopping aren’t exactly exciting ways to spend our beautiful Tucson days but I am loving this project so the time spent was worth it!).
In between that fun I spent several days mapping out my 2008 business year. My map includes my Profit Pyramid™ plan, marketing projects and marketing calendar.
This year, instead of just planning out which programs to offer I also started to plan how I can put myself in front of my potential clients in a bigger, more consistent way. That includes more articles submitted to magazines, more P.R. (okay, SOME P.R. would be more than I’ve done in the past!) and a new emphasis on affiliate/alliance relationships.
No matter how much my business grows there is always a part of me that worries a bit, “Will my plans work out?”, “Will you, my loyal reader, want and say ‘yes’ to the programs I am designing with you in mind?”.
The answer my head gives is “Gee, I don’t know. Maybe, maybe not.” But the answer my HEART gives is, “Yes!”. I am utterly convinced that my marketing plans are in harmony with my Soul’s Divine Mission™.
And that is what makes me successful. My success is about more than just making great mo-ney, it’s about doing what my mom (and co-coach) Kailash always tells me: Say “yes!” to yourself no matter what!
So…as we enter the new year I invite you to take a leap into a new level of success with yourself (and see how it in-creases your pocket book too!). Say “yes!” to yourself, no matter what. You’re in great company as you do!
Until next week…

Confused and Overwhelmed by Marketing Your Small Business? Here’s A Surprise Marketing Shortcut
February 25th, 2008 by Kendall
Listen Now
[display_podcast]Here’s A Surprise Marketing ShortcutOne of the big shifts you can make in your business is to switch your marketing from a “riding-shotgun” approach to a strategic campaign. Many of my business-coaching clients find that it’s actually simpler than what they were previously doing. Let me show you what I mean, and you, too, can create your own successful marketing campaign. First, a marketing campaign is simply a series of steps leading to an outcome. For example: let’s say your outcome is the promotion of a new coaching group, training program, or product launch. Perhaps you want to fill a few openings in your schedule, or fill a whole seminar.
Next, select a specific outcome date that you will focus on as your launch date.
Once you have set your launch date, the third step is to create a preview—or a “showcase” (as one of my HorseWise Brilliance Unbridled business coaching clients calls it.) In your preview, you’ll unveil your new product or service. Your preview should be free, or very modestly priced.
The purpose of your preview is to accomplish three objectives. The preview makes it easy for your prospective clients to:
#1: Say “yes” to attending. Why? Because at this point, you’re not asking them to make a buying decision, you’re simply inviting them to a forum where they can get more information.

Successful Entrepreneur Shares Top Marketing Strategy that Sells Every Time
February 21st, 2008 by Kendall
If you are a solution-type of person like most women entrepreneurs, then the concept that symptoms sell may not be intuitive at first. ‘What do you mean, symptoms sell? I’m hired to offer a solution!’ Yes, that’s true. But selling symptoms and offering a solution are not mutually exclusive. The trick is in your timing. You see, until your almost-client feels you understand their problem; they are not going to listen to any solution you offer. The funny thing is, when you spend time asking questions to uncover the symptoms of their problems, it naturally prevents you from jumping in too soon with a solution. Which means you are following my success coaching golden rule: “It’s not about you, it’s about them.”
Asking about symptoms takes the pressure off of you to sell. You are just engaging your almost-client in an in-depth conversation with one purpose in mind - to find out how bad the problem is, and what happens if they don’t fix it.
You don’t have to spend hours engaged in this type of a conversation – even as few as five minutes can reap huge rewards. Precision questions make this easy. Now most women entrepreneurs realize that if you’re a dyed-in-the-wool solution person this will take a bit of awareness and practice.
Here are two reasons why adopting this practice is worthwhile for women entrepreneurs:
#1: You can help more people if they feel you understand their situation.
And helping people is probably why you do what you do, isn’t it?Posted in Small Business marketing • No Comments » • Subscribe to this feed
Marketing with Soul…
February 20th, 2008 by Kendall
This Friday I’ll be meeting with my personal Master Mind group (this is a group I started over four years ago and have received so much business and soul building value from participating in).
I always get a little nervous right before we meet. Why? Because I know that no matter what topic I bring to the group to get coaching on, I’m going to have to be vulnerable. I’m going to have to dig deep into my truth, potentially make tough decisions and honor my core soul agreements.
It’s kind of like a “boot camp” for my soul.
Do you have a group like that in your life? One that loves you no matter what but will not let you stand in your own way for even one moment?
If you don’t, then I suggest getting into one or creating one now. (I hope you’ll consider joining one of my programs, as this is the kind of “loving, kick-in-the-pants” coaching and information we deliver on a daily basis).
I try to write each week’s newsletter articles as if you and I were in a Master Mind together. It is my intention that each issue pique your interest and ignite your passion to take action because when you show up that fully for yourself you are living your Soul’s Divine Mission™
Until next week
