Can A Big Group Size Be “Platinum?
March 29th, 2009 by Kendall SummerHawk
Have you ever tried something new in your business only to then have a VERY strong feeling that what you did was something you were “supposed to” rather than something that felt truly authentic for you? Well, that happened to me recently and the lesson I got from my intuition gave me a very strong nudge to get back on track with what was authentic and true for me, even though it meant changing direction mid-stream with a program launch.
Here’s what happened: I had an idea to create a Platinum group that was bigger than I had ever done before; but, if I was going to do that, I was going to have to limit the access people had to me personally. With a 30+ person group planned, I couldn’t give each person all of the personal time and attention they wanted and needed to help them create extraordinary results.
Was a 30+ person group REALLY “Platinum?”
Platinum to me means exclusivity, specialness and personal attention. Running a larger group could be billed as “Platinum” but would it really deliver the “platinum experience” people expect? I don’t think so. Quite honestly, I LOVE working with my clients and nothing makes me happier than creating a safe and intimate space for them to try out their ideas and breakthrough their barriers. Creating a larger scale group just couldn’t allow for that to happen.
Realizing this was an epiphany for me. Within moments of that epiphany I became crystal clear that I not only needed to add more personal time to the program I also needed to cut back on the number I would accept into the program by nearly half. Yes, I was giving up some great revenue but that was okay because if I DIDN’T take this action I would be in conflict with my integrity. The decision to reduce the group size felt authentic, powerfully aligned with my integrity AND would honor the Platinum *VALUES* people have come to expect of me.
So, I‘ve decided that my Platinum 2009 program will NOW be exclusive to a MAX of just 19 members. I‘ve been having an intuitive hit lately that this is an important number so I’m trusting my intuition that this number of participants best serves what people want (access and personal attention) and serves me. The fact that we‘re already more than 35% SOLD OUT confirms that I have made the best choice for the greatest good of everyone in the program.
And, because I wanted to make sure I was creating a break through even before the program starts, I decided to add a special Platinum-ONLY 1-day “Virtual Retreat” focused on my breakthrough branding system, “Branding with Archetypes.” (This is on top of the 3 day in-person retreat already planned!) Branding with Archetypes is am amazingly powerful system for creating a compelling, authentic brand. Adding this in to the program is a highly personalized and innovative way to help my “Plats” get started powerfully and gives them a tool that will allow them to implement quick and immediate changes into their business.
Those who apply and are accepted into Platinum 209 will receive a set of beautiful, full-color Branding with Archetypes(tm) Cards, a personal Assessment and a Branding Wheel sent right to their doorstep prior to the Virtual Retreat. (This BONUS Virtual Retreat will be held BEFORE our official start date of June 1st so you can jumpstart your Platinum benefits early. )

It’s not often that I share these personal details with clients and people who follow my work but I thought the lesson of integrity and authenticity was simply too powerful not to pass along. When you move away from your authentic place of integrity, it WILL bubble up again in some way. I had an intuitive hit that I needed to change something and instead of wondering if or how I was going to do it, I trusted my intuition and had faith it would work for both me and for my clients.
The next time you have a similar “integrity crisis” be willing to ask yourself the hard questions because by getting crystal clear on your truth and your vision you’ll know what to do and how to share your decision with the people who follow you. Remember listen to your heart, to the energy in your body - if it’s telling you something is out of whack then have faith that once you move into the place that feels truly authentic for you, knowing what decision to make will come easily.

Kendall, Thank you for sharing these details. I’ve faced many of those same choices lately, follow the example and teachings of “the teachers” or follow intuition. Whenever I follow intuition everything flows easily and is fun. Yet, sometimes it’s hard to make that choice and it is empowering to hear you facing the same challenge and affirming the choice to follow intuition. Thanks for being so candid.

I faced something like that recently too - so I made decisions that feel right for me and my family (I’ll be having twins in 4 months so every decision is crucial right now :))
