Using Teleseminars to Boost Your List

Giving a teleseminar is a perfect way to boost your list. One of the easiest and most effective ways to do this is to get a colleague to feature and promote your call to THEIR list.
The trick is to take the right approach so that you create a collaborative, win/win/win event, along with taking the right steps so that everyone signed up for the call gets into your database.
Here are 4 tips to make sure your list-building teleseminar event is a raving success:
Tip #1 Choose the RIGHT Teleseminar Partner
It's tough to get a stranger to say "yes" to your request to host a call that promotes you. Opt instead for asking someone you already have a relationship with. If you're not on a first name basis with people who have name recognition and good-size lists, now is the time to start cultivating those relationships.
A few regularly sent, hand-written notes of appreciation (without asking for anything in return) will often get your name known in a way that is authentic and sincere. Attend in-person events and make it a point to introduce yoruself so that people get a chance to connect your name with who you are.
Tip #2 Position Counts
Think ahead of how you can position your topic so it appears tailor made to your audience. For example, my Platinum member, Vicky White (www.LifeDesignStrategies.com) recently partnered with a best-selling self-help author to host a teleseminar for the author's substantial list.
Knowing the interests of the list meant Vicky could carefully craft a great teleseminar title that perfectly matched her specialty—Feng Shui style clutter busting—with the spiritual interests of her host's database readers. Her title was such a hit she had over 500 people register for the call!
Tip #3 Make it Easy for Your Host to Promote Your Call
Your teleseminar host will be happy to promote your call IF you provide her with everything she needs so she doesn't have to lift a finger to help you out!.
My client Vicky set up all of the call registration and thank you web pages, provided the teleseminar bridge line, sent her host the copy for her newsletter and sent her questions to ask on the call a few days beforehand. Vicky noted that this was instrumental in the results she got because she noticed how her call was promoted more enthusiastically after her busy host saw how organized and together Vicky was.
Tip #4 If They're on Your Call, They're Now on Your List
When your teleseminar guests sign up for the call, you want to automatically add them to your database. Just be sure to tell them on the sign-up page so they feel respected.
I like to say something simple like, "Your teleseminar registration also includes a complimentary subscription to my e-newsletter, chock full of useful tips and strategies on how to market your small business (subscription valued at $197.00)."
Deliver Great Content and You Just Gained More Than New Names
Adding 50, 100 or even 500 new people to your database is exciting. But even more important, is the opportunity you now have to turn your new subscr1bers into long-term relationships. These relationships are the ones that will provide you with future sales for years to come!
